Overview

The Marketing Director plans and executes the marketing initiatives for the property. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceiving, planning, directing, controlling and implementing the activities that generate revenues and contribute to the profitability of the property. The Marketing Director will use a mix of marketing, promotional, advertising, social media and public relation activities and take an integrated approach to marketing planning and implementation. Acting as a brand ambassador the person must harmonize the culture, mission, values, and quality standards to ensure that the property's maximum potential is achieved. Interacting with employees, guests, agencies and owners this person must contribute to a positive and professional work environment. The Marketing Director  will also be responsible for managing the Marketing Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Create the annual marketing plan and strategies for the property.
  • Work with sales, digital, revenue & operations teams to make sure that the marketing plan is integrated and in line with the other departments' strategies and plans.
  • Work with the Director of Revenue to optimize revenue through all market segments.
  • Drive visitation, growth, and revenue in rooms, entertainment, food and beverage and other property outlets.
  • Work with selected agency partners on the digital strategy and the implementation of digital campaigns.
  • Ensure that the hotel's website is accurate and updated.
  • Utilize digital media as a catalyst for exposure, increased awareness, sales and business opportunities.
  • Ensure marketing and public relations strategy and tactics align with Hard Rock brand standards and receive maximum media coverage.
  • Conduct ongoing research to identify market trends and related information for the development of new marketing initiatives and make recommendations to improve potential from various markets.
  • Execute Hard Rock Rewards program at a local level.
  • Ensure consistent application of the Hard Rock brand on all marketing, communication and media to ensure brand compliance.
  • Work with Hard Rock brand marketing team on the creation of collateral, creative and campaigns.
  • Keep the Hard Rock brand marketing team aware of property initiatives and insights to ensure brand compliance.
  • Ensure creative guidelines from the brand are being used and creative is reviewed and approved through the proper channels.
  • Manage the property’s social media accounts and reputation management initiatives with the Marketing Specialist in accordance with Hard Rock's standards and frequency.
  • Line management of the Marketing Specialists.
  • Create programs and activations, using guest data to enhance personalized and create guest loyalty.
  • Create department budget to include resource quantities, costs, and expenses.
  • Monitor campaign results to determine variance and KPIS to assess performance and adjust strategies and forecasts accordingly.
  • Monitor competitive set activities and adjust execution as needed.
  • Monitor quality assurance program scores and guest feedback.
  • Appoint and manage partner agencies to ensure they deliver against their contracts and KPIS.
  • Report on the departments results on a monthly basis to the General Manager and prepare reports for Hard Rock’s brand team and owners as required.
  • Identify relevant revenue generating partnerships and events.
  • Maintain relationships with partners, key clients, owners and investors.
  • Maintain communication with Hard Rock corporate staff.
  • Present a professional image to employees, guests, clients, partners, owners and investors.
    • Operate ethically.
    • Maintain confidentiality of guest, employees and company information. Knowledge and understanding of GDPR and its implications on the marketing function.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years' management, including at least 4 years in a marketing role
  • Luxury hotel or lifestyle brand marketing experience is preferred
  • Agency experience is welcome
  • Working knowledge of local hospitality industry and culture; work experience in Hungary is preferred
  • Experience in successful branding, specifically the ability to drive brand message through multiple channels
  • Experience in social media and digital
  • Experience in managing projects and events
  • Experience in managing a small team
  • Educated to degree level preferably in marketing or communications

  • Ability to prioritize and work on several projects simultaneously should pose a challenge without being overwhelming.
  • Ability to comprehend and use technical or professional language, both written and spoken, to communicate complex ideas.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, partners, and employees of the organization.
  • Ability to perform complex quantitative calculations or reasoning.
  • Ability to perform mathematical equations, manage budgets and report on KPIS using data.
  • Strong command of software applications, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of hotel-specific platforms preferred (MICROS Opera, Sabre/SYNXIS, Delphi)
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Attention to detail, an eye for design, a passion for marketing and creativity.
  • Fluency in English & Hungarian: additional languages are preferred.

  • Deep understanding of lifestyle hotels and premium dining products and services.
  • Passion for music and knowledge of music trends preferred.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holiday as needed.
