The average occupancy rate of hotels in Budapest increased by 3.6 percentage points to about 75% in January-November last year, delegates heard at the regional meeting of the Hungarian Association of Hotels and Restaurants (Magyar Szállodák és Éttermek Szövetsége - MSZÉSZ).

The number of domestic and foreign guest nights increased by 5.6% and 7.3%, respectively, while the average gross revenue per available room (Revpar) rose by 19.1% in average, Tamás Flesch, vice president of the hotel association, said.
Visitor numbers from Russia and China jumped by 22.4% and 19.2%, respectively. The top three inbound markets were the UK, Germany and the US in January-November, with the latter two producing impressive growth (+9.7% and +11.8%) compared to a year earlier.
