German tour operator Express Travel International (ETI) is expecting to increase the number of its Hungarian passengers to 24,000-25,000 this year from 20,000 last year.

ETI exclusively focuses on the Egyptian market. It will increase the number of its charter flights from Budapest to Sharm El Sheikh to two this year and will launch a new charter to Marsa Alam beginning on 25 March.

The company is going to continue operating six charter flights a week from Budapest to Hurghada and is planning to raise the capacity of its weekly Debrecen-Hurghada charter to 174 seats.

New charter flights from Hungary, Romania

ETI launched operation in Hungary four years ago and saw significant growth since 2016, when the number of its passengers totaled only about 6,000.

The Hungarian unit has been also overseeing ETI's Romanian business from Budapest, but is is now planning to open a Romanian office to respond to increasing demand in the local market.

Last year ETI only operated only one Romanian charter, from Cluj to Hurghada, but there are plans to increase the number of flights to three this year, with launching a flight from Bucharest and adding Sharm el Sheikh as a new destination.
