Germany continues to attract many visitors from Hungary, which is an important inbound market for the country, according to German tourist board DZT.
Hungary recorded an outstanding performance again in 2017 as an inbound market for Germany, Miklós Czeiszing, a representative of DZT's local marketing agency, said.
He said the number of Hungarians traveling to Germany rose by 8.9% in January-October last year from a year earlier. Guest nights spent by Hungarians totaled 707,208 in 2016.

Germany is the most popular destination to Hungarian travelers besides Austria, Czeiszing said. Traveling for pleasure accounts for about 34% of Hungarian trips to Germany, while 29% of Hungarians are on a business trip in the country.
Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt and Hamburg are the most popular cities for Hungarians.
