The government is planning to spend Ft 60 billion on tourism projects and developments in Sopron and at Lake Fertő in northwest Hungary, officials have announced.
As much as Ft 23 billion will be spent on building new facilities at Lake Fertő, including a new 100-room hotel, a port, a new beach, an outdoor pool and sports grounds, according to Attila Barcza, an MP representing governing party Fidesz-KDNP.

The cabinet is also planning to direct Ft 10 billion to the planned upgrade of downtown Sopron and the establishment of a new museum quarter in the city.
Another Ft 16 billion is going to be spent on developments in the Lővérek district. Castles in Fertőd and Nagycenk will be reconstructed for a further Ft 6 billion in total.
