Hungarian wines should further strengthen Hungary's country brand in tourism, according to the Hungarian Tourism Agency (Magyar Turisztikai Ügynökség – MTÜ).

The agency re-launched Hungary's wine marketing strategy in March last year and already has considerable success in creating co-operation between wine producers, traders and the government, Zsombor Gál, MTÜ's chief adviser responsible for wine, said at a conference in Eger.

He said the future elements of the new wine marketing strategy will focus on a unified image for Hungarian wine, the protected designations of origin and improving communication among local stakeholders.

MTÜ will continue organizing various events for the wine sector this year. One of the most important even will be ProWein Dusseldorf in Germany, where the agency will participate with several domestic vineries on a stand of more than 300 square meters.
