The general assembly of Budapest is going to vote on a proposal this week to acquire the Rác hotel and spa complex in Buda.
The city may purchase the property in order to open it as soon as possible, according to a proposal partially drawn up by Budapest mayor István Tarlós.
If approved, the proposal will allow the city to bid for the hotel and spa at a tender to be announced by the liquidator.

The 67-room Rác hotel and its adjacent spa in central Buda was fully reconstructed in 2011, but was not opened since then because of legal wrangles.
The complex is currently under liquidation and is expected to be sold in the near future.
