The town of Gyula in southeast Hungary is expecting to open a new event hall at the historic Almásy Mansion, mayor Ernő Görgényi said.

With a planned seating capacity of more than 200, the event hall will be located in one of the wings yet to be upgraded at the complex, Görgényi said.

He said the future reconstruction will also include works on the Szent Miklós park around the mansion and the project will be largely financed from European Union subsidies.
