Hungarians are planning to spend Ft 165,000 on holidays this year in average, 16% less than last year, according to the results of a recent online survey by Danubius Hotels.

About 73% of the more than 5,000 people surveyed in the January-February online poll are planning a holiday within Hungary this year. Approximately 99% book accommodation in hotels, motels or guesthouses, private accommodation is not very popular.

Roughly 62% of respondents are looking for hotel packages of 2-3 days, but 27.5 % would spend five days in a spa or wellness hotel. More than half of those surveyed go on a holiday multiple times a year. About 75% said they would opt for breakfast and dinner as well at the selected hotel.
