The average gross monthly wage in the tourism and hospitality sector increased by 13.8% year-on-year to about Ft 208,000 in August, according to the latest data from the central statistics office.
This gross amount translated to an average net monthly wage of about Ft 140,000.
Despite a strong growth from last year, wages in the tourism sector are still significantly lower than the overall average in the economy.
The gross monthly wage in the country rose by 10.1% to Ft 321,172 in August from a year earlier, while the average net wage was also up by 10.1% at Ft 213,579.
